Scene of Drying Fish In A Fishing Town

In Himi City, we could often see the scene of drying cut-opened fishes in front of local fish stores. It is a typical scene of this town where the culture of fish-eating has been established.

These dried fishes gets richer than normal flesh of fishes through removing water. They’re suitable for long storage too and good for souvenir. Broiled dried fish is a common side dish for local people and also nice to have with sake.

This interesting scene of a fishing town could be mainly seen along the streets in Minamiomachi, Himimachi, Kitaomachi in Himi City.
